Sangli, Dec. 8 -- A criminal case has been filed at Jat police station in this district against Sri Kadsiddheshwar Swami Maharaj of Kaneri Math in the district for allegedly hurting religious feelings of the Lingayat community by giving a sermon at Bilur in Jat tehsil in October.
According to Jat police, complainant Shankargaund Shivangaund Birajdar, resident of Basvan Bagewadi tehsil town in Bijapur district of neighbouring Karnataka state, had lodged a complaint against Swami at Basvan police station, which was transferred to Jat police station under Zero number.
Swami Kadsiddheshwar Maharaj, while giving sermon at Bilur on October nine, had hurt religious feelings of the Lingayat community with his statement.
