Hyderabad, Sept. 27 -- In a rare and challenging procedure, doctors at Kamineni Hospitals, LB Nagar, successfully performed a life-saving surgery on a 31-year-old man who was suffering from multiple severe heart conditions, including valve leakages, an abnormally enlarged aorta, and a large congenital defect (VSD).

The patient had been experiencing swelling of the legs, severe breathlessness, and difficulty in carrying out routine activities. Tests revealed that his aorta had doubled in size from the normal 3 cm to 6 cm, significantly raising the risk of rupture and sudden death. Along with this, his heart function had dropped to just 20-30 per cent.
