Bhopal, Aug. 12 -- Madhya Pradesh's erstwhile chief minister and Chhindwara legislator Kamal Nath today voiced protest against the state's Bharatiya Janata Party government over the land-pooling policy, which he termed as anti-farmer.
"The government ought to rescind the anti-peasant policy. This land acquisition law will adversely impact on the ryots' interests. Cultivators' protest compelled the Punjab dispensation to withdraw such a policy yesterday.
"The BJP has been working against agriculturists. Farmers are not being given Minimum Support Price vis-a-vis wheat and paddy as was promised during the elections. The BJP has reneged on the promise of doubling agricultural income.
