Bengaluru, Nov. 25 -- Kalpana Venkatachar has formally withdrawn her nomination for the post of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) President in favour of Venkatesh Prasad , clearing the path for him to be elected unopposed.
The KSCA Electoral Officer, under the supervision of Retired Justice Subhash Adi, had released the final list of valid nominations for the upcoming elections scheduled on 7th December. For the presidential post, only two nominations were validated - Kalpana and Prasad.
Following this development, former Indian cricket star Javagal Shrinath urged voters to support Prasad's team, citing the need to restore the association's prestige after a tragic incident at the Karnataka Cricket Association earlier this year.
