Hyderabad, June 8 -- Telangana Agriculture Minister T. Nageswara Rao on Saturday evening firmly rejected the allegations made by BJP MP Etela Rajender regarding the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, describing them as "false, misleading, and part of a broader conspiracy to deflect attention from the ongoing investigation."
Addressing a press conference, the minister stated, "The Cabinet Sub-Committee on which I served never deliberated on the Kaleshwaram project. The government order sanctioning the project was issued even before the committee was constituted. It was neither discussed nor approved by the Cabinet during the BRS regime - a fact I can personally confirm."
