Lucknow, July 31 -- Kala Azar, also commonly known as 'black fever' is no longer a major health threat in Uttar Pradesh, with cases now only confined to three districts in the state.

According to officials, the disease that was previously found in six districts has now become limited to Deoria. Kushinagar, and Ballia, all located near the Nepal border. Since January, only 7 cases have been registered in these areas, indicating significant progress in disease control.
