Bengaluru, July 21 -- Karnataka has asserted its global leadership in semiconductor design, a high-value segment that contributes 70 per cent of the value in the semiconductor supply chain, even as largescale manufacturing projects shift to other states like Gujarat. Speaking to media ahead of the Bangalore Tech Summit (BTS) 2025, Karnataka's Principal Secretary for IT/BT, Dr Ekroop Caur, said, "Manufacturing is only one part of the semiconductor value chain. Design is a much larger component, and we are global leaders in that. Karnataka remains at the forefront."
