Belagavi, Oct. 3 -- The ongoing drought in Karnataka has invited flak from the opposition BJP that has blamed failures of the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government for the rising problems of the farmers. BJP leaders have criticised the state administration for its apparent inability to respond to the crisis.
R Ashoka, Assembly LoP, said today that he and his colleagues were visiting the drought-hit areas of Gadag and Vijayapura, while noting that no ministers from the state government had undertaken similar visits.
"Today, we are visiting the drought-affected areas of Gadag and Vijayapura. Tomorrow, we will be in Vijayapura again. Across Karnataka, no minister from the Siddaramaiah government is visiting any district. Farmers are suffering...
