Hyderabad, June 23 -- Union Minister and BJP Telangana President G Kishan Reddy on Monday paid rich tributes to Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his death anniversary, observed as Balidan Diwas, at the BJP state office in Nampally and later in Krishnanagar, Jubilee Hills constituency.

Speaking to the media, Kishan Reddy recalled Mukherjee's foundational role in opposing Article 370 and protecting the unity of the nation. "In 1951, Dr Mukherjee resigned from Nehru's cabinet and founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

He launched the first movement against Article 370, questioning how Jammu and Kashmir could have a separate Prime Minister, flag, and Constitution," he said.
