Bengaluru, Oct. 28 -- Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju was sworn in as a judge of the Karnataka High Court here today. Karnataka High Court Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru administered the oath of office.
The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended Justice Ganju's transfer from the Delhi High Court in August this year, and the Central government notified the transfer on October 14.
The decision had drawn opposition from sections of the Bar in Delhi. The Delhi High Court Bar Association, its women lawyers group, and several other advocates had written to Chief Justice of India BR Gavai expressing their disagreement with the transfer.
