Bengaluru, April 3 -- Former Karnataka Lokayukta and retired Supreme Court judge N Santosh Hegde was discharged from a private hospital on Friday after recovering from a sudden health scare during a public event earlier in the day.

At a felicitation programme organised by the Bharat Scouts and Guides at Kondajji Basappa Auditorium the 85-year-old jurist collapsed on stage while addressing the gathering. Eyewitnesses said Hegde appeared weak and uneasy before sitting down, after which he vomited and lost consciousness.
