Shimla, Oct. 28 -- Former Supreme Court Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna today proposed the introduction of a comprehensive subject on the Basic Structure Doctrine of the Indian Constitution in legal education to deepen understanding of the constitutional framework.
Delivering the fourth HPNLU Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer Annual Law Lecture on "The Preamble and the Basic Structure Doctrine", he reflected on the central importance of the Preamble and the Basic Structure Doctrine. He emphasised the Preamble's opening words "We, the People of India" and stated that it establishes the collective will of the people as the foundation of the Constitution.
