Patna, Jan. 7 -- Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan on Wednesday administered the oath to Justice Sangam Kumar Sahoo as the Chief Justice of Patna High Court.
The simple swearing in ceremony was held at Lok Bhawan. Sahoo was shifted from Orissa High Court where he was a senior Judge. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, his ministerial colleagues,judges of Patna High Court, lawyers and senior officials of Bihar government were present.
The Collegium of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Surya Kant had recommended the appointment of Justice Sahoo on December 18,2025. Notification of his appointment as Chief Justice of Patna High Court was issued by Government of India on January 1.
