New Delhi, Feb. 12 -- Families of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots on Wednesday welcomed the conviction of former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar saying that "decades later, justice has finally been served".
Hailing the judgment, one of the victims said, "Decades later, I'm overwhelmed with emotion as justice has finally been served. Today, I remember the resilience of my family, the kindness of our neighbour, and the sacrifices made by countless others."
Recalling the horror, Kulpreet Vesuna, who was just 11 at the time said, "I witnessed the devastating Sikh riots that shook our nation. Our family home was burned to ashes, but fortunately, we had temporarily relocated for repairs, sparing our lives."
