New Delhi, March 10 -- The Union government on Monday appointed justice Joymalya Bagchi as a judge of the Supreme Court.
The announcement was made by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on social media platform X.
The Supreme Court collegium, led by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, Justice Bhushan R Gavai, Justice Surya Kant, Justice Abhay S Oka, and Justice Vikram Nath, recommended his appointment on March 6.
The selection process considered his judicial acumen, integrity, and experience, along with factors such as seniority and regional representation.
