Mumbai, Aug. 30 -- The Maharashtra Congress said the Opposition parties have unanimously nominated Justice (Retd.) B. Sudarshan Reddy as their joint candidate for the forthcoming Vice Presidential election, and termed the election as not merely a contest between two individuals, but an ideological choice.
The party said that Justice Reddy has served the nation with distinction in various capacities, as a judge of the Supreme Court of India, as Chief Justice of a High Court, as a student of law, and as a citizen deeply rooted in the democratic traditions of the Republic.
