Tokyo, Jan. 6 -- Juno Mak's Cannes-selected noir epic "Sons of the Neon Night" has been picked up for Japan by prominent distributor Toho-Towa, with the deal brokered by Taiwan-based sales company 66cc Company.

Headlined by an ensemble of Asian screen luminaries - Takeshi Kaneshiro, Sean Lau Ching-wan, Tony Leung Ka-fai and Louis Koo - the film is slated for a nationwide theatrical rollout in Japan in the second quarter of 2026.

The film, which is Mak's second as a director, received its world premiere at last year's Cannes film festival in the Midnight section and was selected for the Gala section of the Tokyo International Film Festival, where it generated strong audience discussion.
