Venice, July 30 -- Acclaimed painter-turned-filmmaker Julian Schnabel is set to be honoured with the prestigious Cartier Glory to the Filmmaker Award at the 82nd Venice International Film, which will unfold from August 27 to September 6.

The coveted accolade, bestowed upon cinematic visionaries who have made distinctive and enduring contributions to contemporary cinema, has previously been conferred upon auteurs such as Claude Lelouch and Wes Anderson, reports DEADLINE.
