San Francisco, June 6 -- A federal judge on Thursday temporarily blocked U.S. President Donald Trump's visa ban on Harvard's foreign students.
U.S. District Court Judge Allison Burroughs issued a temporary restraining order that prohibits anyone from "implementing, instituting, maintaining, enforcing, or giving force or effect to the Presidential Proclamation" that Trump issued Wednesday.
Thursday's order will reinstate international students' ability to enter the country to attend Harvard until a hearing on June 16.
In granting the order blocking implementation of Trump's proclamation and the effort of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Burroughs wrote that she was acting "to preserve the status quo pending a hearing."
