Hyderabad, Nov. 14 -- Congress candidate Naveen Yadav is leading as the counting of votes progresses for the Jubilee Hills assembly bypoll.

After three rounds of counting, which began at 8:00 am at Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda, Yadav is ahead by over 5,994 votes. He is leading against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) candidate Maganti Sunitha and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy.

After the completion of the third round, Congress secured 28,956 votes, followed by BRS with 22,962 votes and BJP with 5,341 votes. The bypoll was necessitated by the death of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA Maganti Gopinath in June this year. The BRS candidate, Maganti Sunitha, is the widow of the late MLA.
