Beed (Maharashtra), July 10 -- Police have registered Beed's first case under the Journalist Protection Act 2017 following a violent attack on Mohammed Qamrul Iman Khan, editor of the daily 'Beed Sangharsh'.
The complaint names Anwar Primary Urdu School in-charge Mirza Saeed Anwar Baig and lecturer Qagzi Israr Ahmed as accused under the law as well as the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provisions, Qamrul Iman said today.
The alleged assault occurred on July 5 around 11:15 pm when the accused allegedly lured Khan from his residence.
