Bhubaneswar, July 17 -- Eight opposition political parties led by the Congress, which called for a 12-hour Odisha bandh today to protest the death of a Fakir Mohan (FM) College student, announced to continue their agitation until a judicial inquiry is ordered into the incident.

At a press conference held in Bhubaneswar, the Joint Opposition expressed gratitude to the people of Odisha for making the bandh a "complete success."

They thanked the citizens, along with Left and democratic parties, trade unions, farmers' organizations, women's groups, youth and student bodies, lawyers, business associations, and all sections of society for participating in the bandh in a peaceful manner.
