Itanagar, Oct. 13 -- In a remarkable display of unity and adventure, a joint civil-military trek to Athupopu in Arunachal Pradesh was flagged off from the Anini Military Garrison in Dibang Valley district today.
The 20-day expedition will cover the breathtaking yet challenging terrain of Arunachal Pradesh, symbolising the spirit of collective faith and civil-military integration in the forward areas.
Athupopu, located at an altitude of about 3,500 metres near the Indo-China border, holds deep spiritual significance for the Idu Mishmi tribe, who regard it as a sacred site, a mythical gateway for departed souls on their journey to eternity.
