Varanasi, April 18 -- On Akshaya Tritiya (April 19), also known as Akha Teej, District Probation Officer Pankaj Kumar Mishra has appealed to all citizens of Varanasi district to keep this holy day free from social evils and cooperate with the administration in completely eliminating the illegal and harmful practice of child marriage.
He stated that incidents of child marriage continue to be reported on Akshaya Tritiya, and it is extremely important to prevent them. Child marriage is not only a legal crime but also a serious injustice to the health, education, and future of boys and girls.
