Los Angeles, Jan. 21 -- Joey King is said to be in talks to take on the central role in Bambo, an upcoming film written and helmed by Natasha Lyonne.
Should the deal be finalised, King would portray Sophie "Bambo" Braverman, the daughter of a hustling Brooklyn boxing promoter whose grand ambition to become the next Don King collapses under the weight of his own excesses. Set in the '80s and follows a Brooklyn-born boxing-promoter father as he tries and fails to become the next Don King and takes his kid daughter along for the hurly burly ride of tax evasion, cocaine, race cars, lost dreams, and heartbreak.
