Madrid, March 16 -- Joan Laporta was re-elected president of FC Barcelona until 2031 after winning the club's presidential election.
The 63-year-old Laporta had secured 68 percent of the vote, compared with 30 percent for his rival Victor Font, who conceded defeat shortly after 11 p.m. local time on Sunday, describing the result as "unanswerable."The club said that 48,480 of the club's roughly 114,000 eligible members cast a vote, a turnout of about 42 percent, according to Xinhua.
