Ranchi, Sept. 27 -- The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has condemned the arrest of the renowned educationist, inventor, and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk, terming it a serious warning against the policies of the Central Government.

JMM General Secretary Supriya Bhattacharya described Wangchuk's detention-reportedly for nearly 26 hours-as an attack on India's democratic values and constitutional rights.

Bhattacharya alleged that the Centre's true intention is to allow corporate allies, including Reliance and Adani, to exploit natural resources in the strategically significant regions of Leh and Ladakh.
