Srinagar, Aug. 25 -- In a bid to bolster cyber security and safeguard sensitive government data, the Jammu and Kashmir government has banned the use of pen drives on official devices across all departments in the Civil Secretariat at Jammu and Srinagar, as well as Deputy Commissioner offices in every district.
The administration has also prohibited the use of public messaging platforms such as WhatsApp and unsecured online services for processing, sharing, or storing official or confidential materials, citing the need to uphold data sovereignty and prevent security breaches.
