Srinagar, March 5 -- A massive avalanche occurred in the tourist resort of Sonamarg in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district without causing any damage on Wednesday, officials said.
The avalanche occurred at the front side of Baltal area without causing any loss of life or damage to property, Police said.
Baltal remains the base camp for the pilgrims during Amarnath yatra.
The avalanche caused panic among the people of the area, they added.
