New Delhi, April 14 -- Jitendra Singh, Minister of Science and Technology, cautioned against over-reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medical education, stressing that a strong grounding in clinical practice remains essential for training competent doctors.
On Monday, speaking at the release of a medical education textbook, Singh said AI can play a supportive role in healthcare, but only after core medical concepts are firmly understood.
"Once a sound clinical foundation is established, AI can serve as an enabler and facilitator," he said, adding that premature dependence on such tools risks weakening the fundamental learning process required to become a capable clinician.
