Giridih, Sept. 9 -- Two women were murdered over a love affair in the Gawan police station area of Giridih district in Jharkhand, police said today.

Angry relatives, accompanied by hundreds of women and villagers, staged a protest outside the Gawan police station demanding justice. Acting swiftly, the police arrested the accused and recovered the bodies of the two women.

The bodies were found last night in Golkho forest, located in Charki under the Gawan police station area.

The deceased were identified as Soni Devi, wife of Dharmendra Yadav, resident of Sambalpur in Koderma district, and Rinku Devi, wife of Santosh Ravidas of Nimadih village. Soni Devi's maternal home is in Nimadih.
