Ranchi, Oct. 7 -- Chief Minister Hemant Soren received significant relief in a high-profile land scam case when the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Appellate Tribunal in Delhi directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to immediately release his luxury BMW car.

The vehicle was seized by the ED on January 29, 2024, during a money-laundering investigation at Soren's Delhi residence.

The ED had conducted a raid at the Chief Minister's residence as part of an ongoing probe linked to alleged land irregularities, recovering the BMW car along with several documents and other materials.

Following the seizure, Soren filed an appeal before the PMLA Tribunal seeking the release of the confiscated property.
