Ranchi, Nov. 24 -- Jharkhand's long-delayed dream of having its own aviation training centre finally took flight today when Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated the Jharkhand Flying Institute at the Sido-Kanhu Airport in Dumka.
The project, first conceived in 2008, had remained on the ground for almost 17 years. The launch marks a significant milestone for Santhal Pargana, which is set to host the state's first full-fledged pilot training programme.
The Chief Minister said the institute will open new doors for young people who have had little access to aviation training. Thirty candidates will be trained in the first batch, and the state will bear the full cost for 15 of them. Officials said the initiative is aimed at enabling students...
