Ranchi, July 28 -- Jharkhand today pressed for tighter coordination with neighbouring states to counter Naxal activity and cross-border crime.

At the Eastern Regional Police Coordination Committee (ERPCC) meeting hosted by Chhattisgarh, DGP Anurag Gupta stressed the need for real-time intelligence sharing across state lines.

Representatives from Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh joined the meeting, which focused on issues affecting border districts - including Naxal movement, cyber fraud, narcotics trafficking, illegal SIM networks, and human trafficking.

DGP Gupta urged officers to identify and monitor key check-posts vulnerable to drug smuggling and called for surprise inspections.
