Ranchi, April 10 -- Jharkhand Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore has ordered a statewide probe into alleged fake salary withdrawals from government treasuries following reports of irregularities in multiple districts.
The minister has written to the home secretary and director general of police, directing a review to identify districts where such withdrawals may have taken place over an extended period.
Officials said the directive follows inputs from the Accountant General, based on which initial scrutiny has indicated irregular withdrawals in Bokaro and Hazaribag.
Separate inputs have also emerged from Palamu, where the deputy commissioner has been asked to conduct an inquiry and submit a report.
