Ranchi, Oct. 15 -- The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has unanimously nominated Somesh Chandra Soren, son of the late minister Ramdas Soren, as its candidate for the Ghatsila Assembly by-election.
The decision was taken at a Central Working Committee meeting in Ranchi, attended by state and district-level party leaders, after detailed deliberations.
Somesh Soren will contest with the support of both JMM and the INDIA alliance.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said preparations in Jharkhand are in full swing, while Bihar is already in an election mode.
He added that JMM will also contest the Bihar elections, with details to be clarified soon.
Somesh Soren pledged to fulfill his father's unfinished mission.
