Ranchi, July 31 -- The monsoon session of the Jharkhand Assembly, scheduled from August 1 to 7, will centre on agrarian concerns, with a special discussion on crop damage caused by excessive rainfall slated for the second half of August 6 sitting.

The decision was taken in an all-party meeting chaired by the Speaker.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren, addressing reporters after the meeting, said the session comes at a time when large parts of Jharkhand have been affected by heavy rains.

He said the Assembly would serve as a forum for serious dialogue on issues that directly impact farmers, and called for cooperation from the opposition.
