Ranchi, Oct. 28 -- Jharkhand's Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, today ordered an immediate and strict crackdown after reports surfaced that fake and expired medicines, including codeine-containing cough syrup, were being clandestinely hidden in and around Ranchi. The Minister described the matter as a grave threat to public health and warned of severe action against those found responsible.
"Playing with life and health will not be tolerated. If fake, expired, or codeine-containing cough syrups are found in any hospital or medical store, I will make life difficult for the guilty. Strict legal action will be taken," Dr. Ansari said.
