Ranchi, July 21 -- BJP spokesperson Rafia Naaz today tore into the Jharkhand government, accusing it of turning a blind eye to a series of brutal crimes against women and minor girls, including witch-hunting, rape, and abduction.

"The state talks of women empowerment, but Jharkhand's daughters live in fear and trauma," she said, questioning the silence of the government and the inaction of the State Women's Commission.

Citing three recent incidents, Naaz said a woman in Hazaribagh's Barhi was stripped, tortured with blades, and paraded on witchcraft allegations - a shocking reminder of the failure to enforce the anti-witch-hunting law.
