Ranchi, April 8 -- The Jharkhand government on Wednesday issued a statewide advisory mandating stricter verification before bill withdrawals after alleged irregular salary-related withdrawals were detected in Bokaro and Hazaribag police offices.
In an official letter, the Finance Department said information received from the Principal Accountant General's office indicated that Rs 3.15 crore was allegedly withdrawn irregularly under the salary head from the office of the Superintendent of Police, Bokaro between May 2024 and December 2025. It said a separate review also indicated alleged irregular withdrawal of Rs 15.41 crore from the office of the Superintendent of Police, Hazaribag over the past eight years.
