Ranchi, Dec. 26 -- : The first death anniversary of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was observed at the Congress Bhavan here on Friday, with party leaders and workers paying floral tributes to his portrait.
Senior Congress functionaries said Singh made a lasting contribution to strengthening India's economy and transforming its global standing. They described him as a towering figure in Indian politics and economic policymaking, whose vision helped the country navigate a severe financial crisis and open its economy to global markets.
