Ranchi, Sept. 13 -- In a proactive move to curb illicit opium cultivation, villagers in SaraiKela-Kharsawan, led by traditional leader Manaki Munda and local elected representatives, took a collective pledge today not to engage in opium farming.
The event, held at the Dalbhanga OP campus, was part of the district police's ongoing pre-cultivation drive for the current agricultural year.
