Ranchi, Dec. 31 -- The winter has been identified as the most suitable period for planting winter-blooming flowers, with the Jharkhand Biodiversity Board encouraging residents to take up eco-friendly gardening to enhance both aesthetics and environmental health.

According to the Board, flowers planted during November and early winter months continue to bloom from December to March, making this season ideal for home gardens, parks and community green spaces.

While marigolds remain a popular choice due to their vibrant yellow and orange hues, the Board has also recommended several other seasonal flowers such as pansies, petunias, dahlias, snapdragons and sweet peas, which thrive well in cooler temperatures.
