Ranchi, Sept. 8 -- The Jharkhand government today approved the creation of a new police sub-division at Mango in East Singhbhum, citing a surge in crime and growing pressure on urban policing, officials said.

The move follows growing concern over economic offences, narcotics cases, and other crimes in Mango and adjoining areas of Azadnagar and Olidih. Officials noted that the dense population and expanding jurisdiction of existing police stations had made law enforcement increasingly difficult.
