Dumka, Oct. 31 -- A vendor was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon by unidentified assailants in state's Dumka district.
The incident took place in Karikadar village under Mufassil police station area, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The deceased has been identified as Lakhon Mandal (38), a resident of Karikadar village, who ran a small breakfast stall to support his family.
According to police sources, Lakhon Mandal was sleeping on a cot outside his shop on Thursday night when the attackers struck, fatally assaulting him with an axe.
