Seraikela-Kharsawan, July 10 -- Continuous rainfall over the past few days has pushed the Kharkai River above the danger mark, while the Subarnarekha River is also nearing critical levels in rain-drenched Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand, officials said today.
According to official measurements, the Kharkai River at the Adityapur bridge is flowing at 129.96 metres, surpassing the danger level of 129.00 metres. The Subarnarekha River at the Mango bridge has reached 120.64 metres, approaching its danger level of 121.50 metres.
District authorities have urged residents, especially those living in low-lying areas and near riverbanks, to remain cautious and avoid venturing into waterlogged zones unless necessary. In case of emergencie...
