Chauparan, Jan. 8 -- The Hazaribagh Police, in coordination with the Forest Department, destroyed illicit opium crops spread over nearly 50 acres in the Chauparan police station area. The joint operation was carried out following specific intelligence inputs regarding unlawful poppy cultivation.

The operation was conducted in villages Murnia and Duragada under Chauparan police station limits, where the joint team identified large tracts of land being used for illegal opium farming. The entire standing crop was destroyed on the spot, causing panic among those involved in the illegal narcotics trade in the region.
