Bhubaneswar, Aug. 31 -- Senior Congress leader and former union Minister Srikant Jena has urged the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on the Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Faggan Singh Kulsate, to recommend that the Odisha Government adopt concrete measures for the upliftment of SC and ST communities in the state.

Jena noted that the two-day National Conference of Chairpersons of Committees of Parliament and State Legislatures on SC and ST welfare, which concluded on August 30, adopted the Bhubaneswar Declaration 2025. The resolution stated that welfare initiatives for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) would commence from Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
