Gandhinagar, Oct. 14 -- Automotive Electronics Power Private Limited of Japan, a joint venture of Maruti Suzuki Corporation, Toshiba and Denso on Monday signed an agreement with the state government for capacity expansion of it's Lithium Ion battery in Hansalpur-Becharaji region with an investment of Rs. 4930 crore.

The MoU was signed by Ichizo Aoyama, the MD of AEPPL and Principal Secretary to Industries M. K. Das in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani here.

In the first phase, the construction of lithium battery packs and module manufacturing facilities at cost of Rs.1250 crores will be built by the end of 2020. It will generate direct and indirect employment for around 1 thousand local peoples.
