Srinagar, Feb. 3 -- Police in Jammu and Kashmir's Ganderbal district have detained an individual for allegedly misusing the 112 emergency helpline number multiple times.
According to police, on February 2, at around 8 pm, Police Post Shadipora received an alert through 112 via Police Control Room Ganderbal, in which the caller reported that his wife had been assaulted and sought immediate police intervention.
Acting swiftly, a police team was dispatched to the location. However, on reaching the spot, the caller's mobile phone was found switched off and subsequent verification confirmed that the complaint was false.
